Side A · Library

Build your visual music library.

Pin the records that belong at the front of the crate. Your library is the first thing people see on your profile — a shorthand for who you are without saying a word. Reorder it any time.

Build your library →

Side B · Ratings

Rate what actually hits.

Score albums out of 100. No half-stars, no aggregate average, no algorithmic nudge — just your honest number. Ratings show up on your profile timeline so others can see what moved you and when.

Rate an album →

Side C · Tier list

Rank the shape of your ear.

Drag records into S, A, B, C, and D. The tier list is the fastest way to spell out the hierarchy of a year, a genre, or an artist catalogue — and it's built for sharing.

Build a tier list →

Side D · Discover

Discover surfaces albums rated highly by people whose taste overlaps with yours. No editorial picks, no playlist algorithms — just records that real listeners actually loved.

Questions.

What is Goat Music?

Goat Music is a free music rating app for people who take albums seriously. You score records out of 100, build a visual library of the ones that define you, build tier lists, and follow people whose taste lines up with yours. No aggregate score, no algorithm — just your ear.

Is there a free music rating app I can use right now?

Yes — Goat Music is free to use. Sign in with Google, Spotify, or Apple Music and you can start rating albums immediately. The free tier includes ratings, a visual library, one tier list, and the social feed.

How do I track the albums I listen to?

Connect Spotify or Apple Music and your recent listening history pulls in automatically — so you're rating what you actually played, not what you searched for. Each rating is timestamped and shows up in your profile timeline.

Can I rate music with Siri or voice commands?

Yes. The Goat Music Apple Shortcut lets you say "Hey Siri, rate on Goat" or "Hey Siri, rate this album" while music is playing. You can also add the shortcut to the iOS Action Button (iPhone 15 Pro+) for a single-press rating from any screen.

What is the album tier list feature?

The tier list lets you drag albums into S, A, B, C, and D tiers. Use it for a year-end ranking, a genre deep dive, or a definitive artist catalogue order. Tier lists are shareable and show up on your public profile.

Is Goat Music like Letterboxd but for music?

That's the closest shorthand — a human-scale social layer for albums instead of films. You rate, log, and share what you listen to, and follow people whose recommendations you trust. Goat Music isn't affiliated with Letterboxd — the comparison just describes the format.

Does Goat Music have an API?

Yes. Goat Music has a public API with token-based auth. You can use it with Apple Shortcuts, the Raycast extension, or any tool that supports HTTP. Generate a token at /account/mcp.

Is my profile public or private?

You control it. Every profile has a privacy toggle. Keep your ratings and library private, or publish a public page at goatmusic.me/@yourname so friends can follow along and see what you've been listening to.
